What it measures

Particulate matter PM1 · PM2.5 · PM10 Dust and sand ingress, cooking, outdoor infiltration
Carbon dioxide ppm A ventilation proxy, not a toxin. How much of the air you're re-breathing.
Formaldehyde HCHO Furniture, adhesives, cabinetry. Emission rises with temperature and humidity.

What it doesn't do

It does not count mould spores.

Nothing at this price point does, and any monitor claiming otherwise is describing something else. What ours reports is a mould-smell score: a machine-learning model reading the pattern across a metal-oxide sensor array, rather than a concentration of any named compound. It tells you the air smells the way actively growing mould smells — not which species, not how much.

Spore counts and DNA analysis are separate laboratory steps. If a reading suggests something is active, that's when we discuss sampling.

Read the middle of the chart above and most homes look unremarkable — a flat line, nothing to act on. Read the top of it and you find a room where the air is heavy from the evening until well after breakfast. Same city, sometimes the same street, and nothing about either room announces which one it is. You can't reliably feel the difference, and you can't infer it from the age of the building or the size of the AC unit.

That is the whole reason we put a sensor in. Not to hand you a number, and not to prove a general point about Dubai — to find out which of those patterns is yours. When it rises, how long it stays up, whether it follows the doors being shut or the cooling easing off overnight: that shape is what points at a cause, and a cause is the only thing anyone can actually fix.

A reading on its own is just a fact about your home. What you want is the next sentence — what to do about it. Sometimes that's airing one room differently, sometimes a shorter interval between visits, sometimes pointing you at a moisture problem no amount of cleaning will fix. Sometimes it's telling you the thing you were worried about isn't the problem. We're called Gaia Solutions, not Gaia Measurements — measuring is how we earn the right to suggest one.

On accuracy

We report patterns confidently. We're careful about absolute numbers.

Our devices are factory-calibrated, but sensors drift with age. The shape of a curve, the timing of a peak and the direction of change after we do work are all reliable. A single absolute concentration quoted against a regulatory limit is less so.
